Don't Miss Out This Summer!

Summer is upon us and so are several awesome opportunities to learn new skills for changing behavior and working with students with autism.

Our Social Thinking Groups began June 13, but we continue to interview candidates, so if you have a child between the ages of 5 and 30 who needs to strengthen skills in the social arena, we can help.

As you make your summer plans, there are several conferences you may want to add to your list. You'll see some familiar Behavior Plus faces at these conferences!

The Nurtured Heart Approach Advance Training
Austin, TX
June 19 - June 24

I will be learning the newest strategies and insights in applying the Nurtured Heart Approach. Come upgrade your parenting skills with me this fall as I share this new knowledge in my parenting classes!!


Texas Behavior Support Conference
Houston, TX
June 29 - June 30

Many experts will be gathering to share their knowledge with you! My presentation on decreasing meltdowns will be on 6/29 at 9:40 using material from my Cup Kid books. If you're not able to attend, I can make this presentation to your group. Please call me!


Texas Council of Exceptional Children Summer Conference
Austin, TX
June 29 - July 1

Who says you can't be two places at once? This conference covers all disability categories! I will be presenting on the Cup Kid (decreasing meltdowns) on Friday at 9:30. Marcia Rohrer and Nannette Samson will be presenting on their 10 Critical Components using material from their book, 10 Critical Components for Success in the Special Education Classroom, on Thursday at 1:45. We will also have a booth! Denise will be there explaining our services and selling our books. We would love for you to stop by, sign up for our drawing, and introduce yourself.


47th Annual Autism Society National Conference
New Orleans, LA
July 13 - July 16

This is a HUGE conference on autism spectrum disorders! Experts from all over the nation will be speaking. I will be speaking on meltdowns and the Cup Kid at 8:30 Saturday morning. Don't sleep in! Get up and learn something new! I hope to see you there!


24th Annual Texas Autism Conference
San Antonio, TX
August 3 - August 4

This is a great conference, with presentations covering a wide variety of topics that pertain to autism spectrum disorders. I will present a session on the importance of teaching children how to interpret and use nonverbal communication and a session on goal-setting basics for parents. (Again, I can present these for your group any time - just call me!) I will also be a member of the expert panel held for parents on August 4 during lunch (pre-register to attend). Marcia and Nannette are presenting on "Social Skills and Strategies for Teaching." Come by the Behavior Plus booth and say, "Hello!" Denise will be there to greet you with a smile and answer your questions. If you want a book autographed, let us know! We hope to see you at this event!
